- TREDEGAR VISITOR CENTER — The Richmond Civil War Visitor Center that serves as the starting point for your central Virginia tour is located on the north bank of the James River in downtown Richmond and is easily accessible from any of the Downtown Richmond exits off I-95, I-64, I-295 and I-195. Signs direct visitors south on FIFTH Street to TREDEGAR Street and the Civil War Center.
- RICHMOND METROPOLITAN CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU —
From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Richmond Region Visitor Center
(405 N. 3rd St.) is approximately 2 miles (5 minutes) away. Turn left out of the Civil War Visitor Center parking lot. Take the first left onto 5th St. Go one block and turn left at the following light onto CANAL St. Go three blocks and turn right onto 2nd St. Go six blocks and turn right onto MARSHALL St. Take the first right onto 3rd St. and take the immediate left into the parking deck. The Visitor Center is across Marshall St. from the parking deck.
- VIRGINIA HISTORICAL SOCIETY — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Virginia Historical Society (428 N. Blvd.) is approximately 3 miles (8 minutes) away. Take the DOWNTOWN EXPRESSWAY (50 cents). Take the BOULEVARD Exit, merge onto IDLEWOOD Ave. Turn right onto the BOULEVARD. The VHS is nine blocks ahead on the left at the corner
of KENSINGTON and BOULEVARD.
- CHESTERFIELD COUNTY MUSEUM — From the Tredegar Visitor Center,
the Chesterfield County Museum is approximately 13 miles (20 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Route 288 north. Exit 288 at Route 10 east. Follow Route 10 until you see the 1917 courthouse on the left.
- HENRICUS HISTORICAL PARK — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Henricus Historical Park (251 Henricus Rd.) is approximately 20 miles
(25 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Exit 61-A toward Hopewell. Go half a mile and turn left at stop light onto OLD STAGE Rd. Go 2 miles to the stop sign and turn right. Park entrance is on the right.
- PETERSBURG OLD TOWN VISITOR CENTER — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Petersburg Visitor Center is approximately 23 miles (30 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Exit 52 towards WASHINGTON St. Stay in
the right lane and turn right onto WASHINGTON St. Proceed to the third light, and turn right on SYCAMORE St. Go approximately five blocks to OLD St. Turn right. The Visitor Center is in the frame house in front of you.
- PETERSBURG NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Petersburg National Battlefield is approximately 23 miles
(30 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Exit 52, toward WYTHE St. Stay
in the left lane of the exit ramp. Turn left onto WYTHE St. (Rt. 36). Park entrance is 2.5 miles on the right.
- CITY OF HOPEWELL — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, the Hopewell Visitor Center (4100 Oaklawn Blvd.) is approximately 25 miles (35 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Exit 61A. Go approximately 4 miles and take
I-295 SOUTH. Go 6 miles to Exit 9A. Take the first right after exit into Colonial Corner Shopping Center. Visitor Center entrance is on the right.
- PAMPLIN HISTORICAL PARK — From the Tredegar Visitor Center, Pamplin Historical Park & The National Museum of the Civil War Soldier (6125 Boydton Plank Rd.) is approximately 30 miles (35 minutes) away. Take I-95 SOUTH to Exit 51 (I-85). Go 4 miles and take Exit 63-A (Rt. 1 South). Park entrance
is one mile on the left.
